- Protect Your Dwelling With A Witch's Bottle
This ancient protection spell is very simple to do, yet extremely powerful. There are a great many variations to this spell available, but this one is my very favorite! The Witch's Bottle is used to build a powerful thought-form that protects your dwelling by sending harmful intentions such as curses, hexes and general bad-vibes packing! Make a witch's bottle whenever you move in to a new home or office, and at any time you feel like your dwelling could use more protection. Ingredients needed: One bottle of orange-flower water Assortment of nails Several opened metal paper clips Procedure: Perform this spell on a Sunday during the waning moon. 1. Remove the label from the bottle of orange blossom water (if possible) 2. Put the nails and paperclips into the bottle of orange blossom water. 3. Visualize a golden light throughout the bottle as you do so 4. Put the cap on the bottle (you can dip the cap in wax for extra fun) 5. Charge the bottle by seeing a globe of golden light penetrating the bottle 6. Bury it on the property, or simply hide it somewhere indoors where it won't be found. - The Second Pentacle of the Sun
Working Solomonic Magic with the Archangel Michael The Second Pentacle of the Sun If you are working with the material from my free Basic Angel Magic Course (BAM) you may also be interested in using this pentacle from the Greater Key of Solomon! You can work this operation for both waxing moon and waning moon magic. It's an acceptable alternative to some of the other talismans for Michael in the BAM course. Make sure to always work with the angel who rules the area of life for which you are working magic. See the BAM handouts for all those correspondences. Procedure (refer to the video demonstration above): On an orange sheet of paper or card, draw a six-inch circle with blue ink or pencil. Draw a second circle outside the first circle, one-half an inch larger. Draw 8 even spokes with a hub in the center of the inner circle. Draw the solar symbols at the ends of each spoke, working clockwise. Draw the names of Michael's helper angels, in Hebrew, clockwise (be sure to write each name from right to left, when writing in Hebrew). Darken all the circles and lines. Carefully cut out the talisman, being sure not to cut into the circle. On the reverse, write your petition in the Passing the Rivers Script. If you are working this ritual on a waxing moon, keep the talisman until the next new moon, then tear it up and throw it away. If you are working this ritual on a waning moon, rip up the talisman the same day you make it, right after completing your petition. For free in-depth training in this work, including how to write in the different scripts, enroll in BAM! - Respect Your Symbols
Why We Use Symbols In Magic We have within us a depth of mind that is connected to everything and everyone who has ever lived and who will ever live. This is because there is but one mind, and we all share that mind. This shared mind is a type of "species memory" which is often called the Akashic Records. If a certain symbol has been used for generations for a specific result, that ingredient carries a great deal of Akashic power. We are literally tuning into EVERYONE who has ever used this symbol before and can thus draw on that power. Spells, when well cast, are devices of communication from the surface mind to the deep mind. The deep mind, which is always in contact with the Akashic Records, is more amenable to suggestion when we communicate to it with meaningful symbols it understands. We choose ingredients in a spell based on things like planetary correspondences, ancient traditional practices, color, scent, etc., all of which carry a great deal of symbolic weight in the Akashic Records. Superstition vs. magic The symbols of a spell have absolutely zero mystical powers in and of themselves. We may like to believe that our crystals emit a certain "energy," but we would have a very hard time finding any scientific proof to back up our hypothesis. However, depending on how well it is used, our crystal DOES carry immense Akashic power. A talisman, for instance, does not work by emitting special frequencies which then cause things to happen for you. Instead, it communicates your desire to your deep mind in a way that your deep mind is amenable to accepting. Devices of communication A spell, if it is designed well, can convince your deep mind of your desire, and thus your desire becomes realized. Do you need these physical ingredients to realize your desires with magic? Absolutely not. Many people work purely with mental magic and don't involve themselves with any physical symbols at all. However, many of us find that the physical tools can really assist us in establishing a healthy rapport with our deep minds. Symbols have significant power While it's very healthy to avoid superstition, this doesn't mean we just say, "Oh it's OK, anything goes because it's all just symbolic, anyway." NO! If we are using a well constructed spell that calls for specific ingredients, those ingredients are there for an excellent reason. If your spell calls for rosewater, use rosewater. If you CAN'T find rosewater, then find a substitute. If you simply don't feel like going through whatever it takes to procure a bottle of distilled rosewater, then you can get an inkling of the results you can expect from your spell. Saying, "Oh well, whatever," tells your deep mind you don't care about your spell at all. What we put into our magic is what we get out of it. Often when we make the effort to find a specific ingredient, it is well worth it. Substituting Ingredients Now, sometimes certain ingredients are simply too difficult (or even impossible) to obtain. If we can't find an item, we of course aren't doomed. We can always substitute. But if you must substitute an ingredient in a spell, you must ask yourself Why was this ingredient included in this spell? And, What ingredient has similar correspondences and Akashic powers? Then you must investigate and find a suitable substitute. As we progress in building our power, we learn to do away with superstition, while honoring our symbols and using them to their fullest effect, and thus bring about positive and lasting results with our magic! - Psalm Magic for Peace and Prosperity
Psalm 23 Psalm Magic traditions view the Book of Psalms as a spell book of spiritual magic. For us, the Psalms offer a practical path to the solving of real-life problems and the achievement of our most cherished goals. Rather than using the Psalms religiously, we work them magically. This means that we come to a Psalm with a very specific goal in mind. Then we work through our chosen Psalm and plant the magical seeds of thought that we find within it, applying those seeds to the specific need at hand. Psalm 23 is not only the most well-known Psalm, it is also one of the most versatile. The Magic of Serenity The magical seeds within Psalm 23 have to do with finding peace and serenity by viewing our relationship with Infinite Intelligence as being like unto the relationship between a shepherd and his flock. This Psalm reminds us that all our needs can be met in a peaceful and joyous manner. We have nothing to fear. We come to realize that our lives have been given to us in order that we be happy and express joy. No matter what problem or goal we are bringing to this Psalm, it will be taken care of for us in an easy and relaxed manner, and in healthy and comfortable ways. All Blessings Come Through Peace Psalm 23 reminds us repeatedly that ALL our needs are met within an environment of peace. We seek the peace that our Shephard is providing for us and within that peace is EVERYTHING we desire and require. We are not looking for peace so we can simply "put up with" lack or disharmony. We seek peace because within it is literally everything that is required for the solving of our problems or the filling of our needs. We understand that this peace brings blessings that include real-world results in our lives and circumstances, besides the many results which occur within our minds, emotions, and spiritual lives. Psalm 23 is one of the five Contractual Psalms. This collection of Psalms is the most often used and the Psalms in this collection are considered the most versatile Psalms in the entire Book. For more information on the Contractual Psalms and how to use them, please download my free booklet called "How to Work Psalm Magic." - The Basics of Mental Magic
All Magic Is of the Mind There is almost an infinite number of different tools that are used in magic. Magical paraphernalia such as candles, perfumes, poppets, incense, altars, etc. can be an incredibly important part of a person's magical practice. In reality, we perform all magic solely with the mind. While tools can be of great help to focus and organize our mind, it is purely the mind which casts the spell. The tools have absolutely no power in and of themselves. To believe otherwise is mere superstition. One wonderful aspect of working purely mental magic is that you can cast a spell any time you like, in any place you want. This is especially helpful to those who desire their magical practice to remain private. Following is a method of casting mental spells that I hope you find much success in using! The Basics of Mental Magic 1. Deep Relaxation We humans keep ourselves in a state of defense for the bulk of our day. Most people only allow their defenses to come down during sleep at night. Tension in the body mirrors tension in the mind with great exactitude. In order to relax any part of your body, you must lower whatever defense it represents in your mind. Thus it is by relaxing your body that you lower your mental defenses. A state of defenselessness is an ingredient that makes spell casting extremely powerful. This is the reason we work our magic in a trance. You can feel safest lowering your defenses when you are in a protected space. Therefore, many practitioners work their magic within a magic circle or some other manner of protected space (such as the Orb of Light). 2. Visualization Once you are in a state of relaxation and a mild trance, you can begin to plant the mental seed of that which you desire to see in your life. See a very brief scene in your mind that proves that your desire has already occurred. Example scenes are seeing yourself being congratulated by your new boss, hearing your accountant tell you that the debt is all paid in full, hearing your doctor tell you the condition has cleared up, seeing your realtor putting the sold sign on the house, etc. Repeat this very tiny scene in your mind in a loop for about five minutes. 3. Conjure Imagine what you really would feel like were this thing to happen to you. Conjure that feeling as you are seeing your chosen scene from Step 2. Hit this step hard. Allow yourself to work up the emotion as best as you can during this step. FEEL what it feels like to emotionally experience this desire as if it has already happened. 4. Focus Imagine the scene from Step 2 and the emotions from Step 3 focus into a small ball of energy in front of you. See this thought form in the color you associate with your desire (green for prosperity orange for success, etc.). Imagine this thought-form move up and out of your room, like a balloon floating into the air, until it disappears from sight. 5. Detach Once your spell is cast, let it go. Set it and forget it. Don't keep looking over your shoulder, wondering if things are happening yet. Know that it is working. Get busy doing other things. Whenever you think of your desire, smile and say, "Blessed be." This lets your deep mind know that all is well and your desire is on the way. 6. Kill the pests The exception to the "set it and forget it" stance is when fears come in. If you experience fear or worry regarding your desire, eliminate it immediately. Think of a small affirmation or chant that you can repeat if fears or worries come up. Kill the pests on the spot. For instance, if after you cast a spell to pay a bill you notice worries about the bill, you might say, "This bill is being paid in divine order." If you worry about your health spell you might say, "Every cell of my body is bathed in Infinite Life," and so on. I certainly hope you enjoy practicing this simple but very powerful technique. - The Mage Within
The inner adept Within each of us is a magical adept, or inner mage, Our inner mage is constantly at work casting spells for us based on the ideas and concepts that we show it are important to us. Your mage is a true adept. Every spell it casts is a success; yet it only casts spells you request of it. Your inner mage doesn't speak in a human language. It communicates through feelings and images. What you find attractive is what you are in effect telling your mage to cast spells for. What are you attracted to? Do you gravitate toward good news or bad? Are you taken in by gossip or are you attracted to conversations that uplift and inspire? Do you lean towards arguments, or do you gravitate to peaceful discourse? You can come up with many more questions like these on your own, the answers to which will give you an idea of the kinds of spells the mage within you casts on your behalf. Some of our desires, or leanings, we pick up from the muck of the lower astral plane where much of the group mind of our species spends a lot of time. We don't need to suppress our desires or shame ourselves for any of our attractions; rather, we need to notice our desires and thus become aware of the types of spells our mage is casting on our behalf. This is so important because the kinds of attractions that come from the lower astral, if not questioned, give your inner mage the go-ahead to cast the most evil of spells on yourself. Cast a new spell Declare that you will no longer allow the most nefarious sections of the group mind to take hold of your thoughts without your consent. Declare that only YOU will decide the kinds of spells that your mage will cast. Take back your wand The wand is a symbol of the partnership between you and your inner mage working in harmony. Cast spells for good to come to you through your magic. Cast that your magic becomes more and more powerful day by day. Cast that your magic brings you success upon success, glory upon glory, joy upon joy. Did you know I stream live on YouTube EVERY DAY except Monday? - A Basic Multipurpose Talisman
This talisman is very simple to make, extremely flexible in its applications, is a lot of fun, and is very effective. It's a method of reconditioning your deep mind to receive that which you desire. You can use this talisman for any purpose. If you work magic with the lunar cycles and and/or with planetary or angelic forces it is quite easy to include these practices into the talisman, but these practices are optional as described below. I've included a video demonstration of the practice at the end of the post to show you how simple it is. A Basic Multipurpose Talisman Ingredients: 1. A piece of paper (any color) 2. A pen or pencil (any color) Procedure: 1. Draw a semicircle, leaving only a small opening at the top. 2. Sign your name at the top, inside the circle. 3. Write three single words as thought-seeds below your name. These thought-seeds should address the desire for which you are making the talisman. These three single words should be in the language you use the most. This particular talisman does not require special scripts, just write like you normally do. 4. Allow your first thought-seed to be the word PEACE. Remember that peace is a "package deal." Anything you desire is inherent within the goal of PEACE. 5. Allow your second thought-seed to be a word that represents a quality of spirit that your desire requires (for example, LIFE for healing; SUBSTANCE for money; TRUTH for a lawsuit, etc). 6. Allow your third thought-seed to address your desire directly (for example, PROMOTE for a job promotion; GROW for an increase in pay; MATE for a perfect mate, etc.) 7. Draw the circle closed. Once you have closed the circle, the talisman is active. This is all you need to do; the rest of the following steps are optional. 8. Draw the planetary symbol of the planet or angel you are working with in the four corners of the talisman. 9. Consecrate the talisman with a perfume sacred to the planet, angel or deity you are using. Note: Vervain (verbena, or "Van Van") is an all-purpose perfume. You may use either oils or spray perfumes as you prefer. 9. Light a candle and set it on top of the talisman. Let the candle burn down and out by itself. Note: never leave a burning candle unattended. Snuff it if you must leave and relight it when you come back. You may either use a white candle, or a candle of the color appropriate to your desire, or force you are working with. 10. Allow the active talisman to be on a flat surface, facing up. Put nothing directly on top of the talisman. In order to hide your talisman, place it in a drawer, a cabinet, or on top of a tall bookcase, etc. but with nothing sitting directly on top of it. 11. The thought-seeds listed on the talisman will be broadcast to the deep mind of whoever you have named on the talisman. 12. Don't have more than three active talismans at once for the same person. 13. To deactivate a talisman simply tear it and thus open the circle. When deactivating a talisman, take a moment to feel the thought-seeds being planted deeply in your aura or the aura of whoever you have named in the talisman. - Deities, Gods, Goddesses and Angels
There is only one Power. There is only one presence. There is only one force. There is only one substance. There is only one source. This Power has many qualities: Perfect Love, Infinite Truth, Divine Peace, Infinite Intelligence, and so on. When light hits a prism, it makes a rainbow. The qualities of the divine are akin to the colors in a rainbow. The idea of a prism is a powerful context for comprehending deities and angels. Working with deities as separate entities having no Divine Order back of them is superstitious and often brings about chaotic results. If there truly were separate, competing universal forces, we would have to wait for a battle between these forces each time we wanted to do something as simple as turning on a light. But there are no competing forces. When you familiarize yourself with the spheres on the Hermetic Tree of Life, you can see these spheres as prismatic expressions of the one Power. A god, goddess or angel may exist on more than one sphere on the tree, depending on which aspect of the entity is being considered. We might say that Aphrodite is a personification of the divine quality of Perfect Love on Sphere 7; we could contend that Arianrhod is a personification of the idea of Divine Law on Sphere 3. We could see the Archangel Michael as a personification of the concept of Infinite Life on Sphere 6; whereas we could perceive the Archangel Gabriel as the personification of the divine principle of Soul on Sphere 9. There are many methods of calling forth these Spheres, including working with gods, goddesses and angels. We always must remember however that there is only one light, even when we perceive that light as a separate color. There is only one Power, even when we perceive that Power as a deity.
- Ariel's Lectures
Old and new I started offering regular classes and lectures on witchcraft and magic back in the 1980s. In the 1990s someone gave me the idea to record my talks. I did not know what I was going to do with all those cassette tapes that were piling up, but I dutifully lugged my old tape recorder everywhere I gave a talk, and kept those old cassettes for years. In the mid-2000s, as I started my podcast called A Witch's Primer, we also began digitizing the live talks of those old cassettes. I created a second podcast just for these newly digitized lectures. We released episodes of the old live talks alternating with new studio talks I was also recording regularly. The sound quality of many of the live talks is abysmal, but It delighted me that both the old live lectures and the newer studio one grew a fairly large and enthusiastic listener base. I now call all the recordings from this lecture podcast the Vintage Lectures. I took a hiatus for a few years and shut down the podcasts. I came back to giving regular talks last year. YouTube is my current venue for releasing new material, but I still toy to start another podcast in the future. My current online talks happen live each week on my Soulful Sunday YouTube streams. I call these more current talks Livestream Lectures. On my weekly Thrilling Thursday stream, I also frequently give lectures specifically on prosperity. These talks, plus several from the Vintage Lectures make up what I call my Prosperity Lectures. All in one place I have created a database for all my lectures -- The Vintage Lectures, the Livestream Lectures and the Prosperity Lectures. This database is extremely helpful when you want to browse the titles of the entire library, or if you want to a find and listen to a specific lecture. Each entry is a live link that takes you right to that recording. Thank you for listening! Blessed be Ariel's Lectures ========= Please catch me live on YouTube! - Getting Started With Household Magic
Household Magic The art of household magic is vastly practiced. The methods used are as varied as are all the different cultures who have engaged in it throughout history. In this post, household magic refers to a magical practice that requires absolutely no tools other than those you can find in your home right now. Since you can practice household magic with no special equipment, it is also a perfect system for any practitioner who prefers to keep their magic strictly stealth. The Ritual of Divine Order is one of the most basic, and also most powerful household magic rituals you can perform. You can use it to help you solve any problem you may be experiencing. The Ritual of Divine Order 1. Decide which problem needs to be solved. 2. Find a single space in your home that needs to be tidied and cleaned (a room, a drawer, a cabinet...). 3. Say, "As I establish order in this space so is Divine Order established in (name the situation). So mote it be." 4. Start cleaning up this space, chanting either silently or aloud all the while: DIVINE ORDER IS ESTABLISHED IN MY MIND RIGHT NOW DIVINE ORDER IS ESTABLISHED IN MY BODY RIGHT NOW DIVINE ORDER IS ESTABLISHED IN MY AFFAIRS RIGHT NOW 5. Once the space is completely in order, stop chanting. Relax and feel at peace. Say firmly, "So mote it be." You may perform this ritual under any lunar phase except the dark moon or during any eclipse. Any day of the week is appropriate for this ritual. The ritual as I have given it here is extremely effective; you don't need to add anything to give it more power. However, if you desire to add other ritual implements (candles, incense, perfumes...), please feel free to do so! Order is heaven's first law. --Alexander Pope Did you know i stream live on YouTube EVERY DAY except Monday? Subscribe to my YouTube channel and hit the bell button!
